Teacher Earnings and Payments

Teacher Earnings and Payments

Understand how teachers are compensated

Every teacher determines the price that they would like to charge and how many seats/slots they want to make available for each class.

Zuzu's business model is to take a service fee each time a learner/parent enrolls in a class. The service fee is 25%. This means that Zuzu keeps 25% of the payment of each enrolment and the teacher retains 75%. Zuzu does not charge any fee to list a class and it does not charge any fee for leads. Zuzu earns only when the teacher earns and our incentives are aligned. Both Zuzu and teachers are supported by parents enrolling. In the spirit of this arrangement, all class fees must be paid through the Zuzu platform.

Payout Details

We send payouts to teachers after the completion of every section using IMPS/NEFT/RTGS. The payout amount for each section is 0.75 * (price * number of students).

For most classes, you will receive payment for a section 7-8 days after it is completed. Payments begin processing 5 days after the completion of a section (class slot). It may take up to 24-48 hours for the payment to get processed and for you to receive the money.

Note - A section is defined as a class slot. For example, if you teach a chess class and conduct classes on monday evening, tuesday afternoon, and wednesday evening. Each of those class slots is considered a section, i.e, the monday evening class is considered a section.

You will receive the money 7-8 days after a section is complete provided there are no active disputes. We have covered this in detail in the Cancellations & Refunds policy document.

Payment Information

We would need your bank details in order to schedule the payouts for each section. We would need the following details -

Beneficiary Name
Bank Account Number
IFSC Code

Once we have your bank details, payouts will be processed automatically as mentioned above.
